Outfit from 5.28.2011

Dress: Lane Bryant sz. 22/24 (borrowed)
Belt: Lane Bryant, don’t know size (also borrowed)
Sandals: Avenue sz. 11
Fat Necklace: Definatalie

Wore this to my cousin’s wedding last spring.  I didn’t have anything new and exciting to wear, so I borrowed things from my sister.  Luckily we’re similar sizes, though she is a bit shorter than I am.  She’d actually hemmed this dress due to her height, so on me it was more like a minidress!  With the belt, I totally had a Joan Holloway caboose on me.

The bow is there because I made the decorations for my cousin’s car for after the ceremony.  Ribbons and bows EVERYWHERE.

Outfit from 10.28.2011

Dress: Domino Dollhouse sz. 24
Shrug: Pure Energy sz. 2 (Target)/
Tights: Assets sz. 5 (Target)
Boots: Funtasma sz. 11 (eBay)
Necklace:  Thrifted
Wristlet: e.l.f. cosmetics

I love love love the strawberry dress– the only drawback is I cannot wear it by itself!  The neckline is cut a little strangely for my shoulders and the straps wont stay up at all.  But the shrug works well enough until I can take it to my seamstress friend to see what she can make of it. ^_^

Fat Necklace: Definatalie
Skirt: Merona (Target) sz. 3
Stockings: Lane Bryant sz. C/D (They were originally tights, but I cut ‘em off and they’re stockings now.)
Legwarmers: Xhiliration (Target)
Shoes: Crocs sz. 10

Back on the OOTD wagon! o/

I got two new outfits drawn while on my lunch break last night, so I inked them up when I got home.  (I will hopefully color and post the second one tomorrow.)  I tried something new and inked them with a real actual brush and pot of ink, too!  And I only smudged this one in ONE place! ^_^;;

Anyways, my favorite part of this (both the outfit and the drawing) is from the knees down. DOSE LEGWARMERS.

No one will ever take my legwarmers away from me. *clutches them to the chest*

[Image description: A sketch of Alex, a fat woman in coattails and a top hat, leaning on a cane and smoking a stogy while baring her teeth fiercely.  Cursive writing next to her reads “Classy as Fuck”.]

I decided a sassy self-portrait was in order.  I’m looking rather dapper today anyway, since I went out with my boyfriend and his family for his father’s birthday dinner at a fancy restaurant.

I happened to be watching the episode of Futurama where Fry learns he’s a billionaire and throws a party with everyone wearing top hats, and here we are.

Drew this during my lunch break last night.  My vision of the Ponies and Googly Eyes Bra had to come into being in one way or another.

Here’s something from the Thing I Drew Today:  Friday’s comic, and the first comic in 2012.

One of my New Year’s resolutions is to draw something every day and post it online, and I’m definitely counting my comic updates in that so I don’t get frustrated.  Two down, 364 to go.

[Image description: A collage of Alex’s art from each month of 2011.  Top text says “Alex’s 2011 Art Meme”]

Did an art meme for the year.  I noticed that I was kind of stop-and-go with my art this year.  Some months, I only did a few things, which made it easier to choose for those parts of the meme, but other months I did a bunch of art all at once.  But I think it summarizes my year fairly well anyway.

So against my better judgement, I watched some Adventure Time.  Lumpy Space Princess is like my favorite thing ever.  And I love how, from what I’ve heard, the fandom loves her too.

So I made a drawing of a LSP-inspired outfit/found-item cosplay.  Purple happens to be my favorite color, so I’ve got plenty of it in my closet.  I imagine a human LSP to be similar in personality to April on Parks and Recreation, so that’s who I’d be channeling if I actually did this.

So that’s Lumpy Space Alex. :B

Oh, and this is the first thing I’ve drawn in 2012! o/

I’m so tempted to replace my Birthday Bash dress with my correct size.  I could probably sell my current one to recoup some of the cost, it’s just in need of a couple repairs.  (The bow came off after a raucous night of clubbing and it should probably be cleaned.)

Could be my Christmas gift to myself? oxo
