Seeking Artists, Inkers, Flatters

swinsea:

I am currently seeking collaborators for some upcoming projects! At least two are definite with the potential of more to follow, so I’m hoping not just to find immediate help, but start a file for future reference.

This concerns some short stories I’ve written, ranging from 5-15 pages in length each. Pay is dependent on the publication’s rates, which are generally in the indie anthology realm. Those rates are admittedly not great, but I do my best to make it worth my collaborators’ time by favoring them when splitting the upfront rate and sharing rights, royalties, comps, etc. It’s all negotiable, I have huge respect for artists and would never expect anything that isn’t worth your time. And, of course, you will always be credited with enthusiasm!

ā˜…Ā Artists: I am interested in hearing from artists who produce finished pages.

ā˜…Ā Inkers: I’d also like to hear from inkers who would be willing to ink pages I have pencilled. I will pay for a sample page to see how our styles jive if I’m interested in working with you.

ā˜… Flatters: I’ve been working with someone really great lately, but if you’re a flatter, I’m interested in keeping you on my list in case a spot opens up!

Please email me a link to your portfolio (or a couple reasonably sized attachments, no zips) at sarah@swinsea.com. If your website doesn’t have one, also give me a quick summary of who you are, where you’re from, and what sort of work you’ve done.Ā Thanks!

Edit: Shameless plugging of Twitter testimonies from past/current collaborators!

Carey Pietsch:Ā ā€œSarah has been wonderful to collaborate with!! hit her upppppā€

Jackie Roche:Ā ā€œSarah is excellent to work with, seeking collaborators:ā€

I’ve worked with Sarah, too, and she’s awesome!

I’m Jess! My favorite ship is currently Touya x Yukito from Cardcaptor Sakura, my favorite ice cream flavor is all of them (esp ones with chocolate cookies in them) and I do not have a cat since I’m allergic. Did I miss anything?

HI!Ā  Loved that pair in CCS as well.Ā  Haven’t read it since high school, or watched much of the anime, but it’s on my list of things to revisit.

All ice cream is beautiful in [insert deity or otherwise of choice]’s eyes.Ā  I usually go for cookies and cream. :D

Theres this one Ben and Jerry’s ice cream that’s mocha on one side, caramel on the other with a chocolate cookie core and it is divine. I have no idea what it’s called though. :/

Hnnnnnnnnnng that sounds amazing. I’ll have to look for it next time I’m at the store. :D
