Shirt: Avenue sz. 18/20

I walked into a nearby Avenue last month to find just about the entire store was in Winter Clearance Mode. I got hearts in my eyes.

Sunglasses: Don’t know

Shorts: Avenue sz. 20
Sandals: Avenue sz. 11
I bought these shorts on a whim and was surprised at how short they were on me. Still, body acceptance is about pushing one’s comfort zones, so I wore them several times. I would look down and see legs as far as the eye could see. This t-shirt is incredible, and one of my favorites. It’s actually made of a slightly thicker material than regular t-shirts, so I wear it pretty much year-round.
I’ve actually had this drawn and inked for months, but since the t-shirt has such a detailed design, I didn’t get a chance to sit down with it and make sure I drew it accurately.
My bridesmaid’s dress from my sister’s wedding.
Dress: David’s Bridal sz. 18 (I think; this is when I was a slightly smaller fat)
Jewelry: don’t remember… maybe Claire’s?
Shoes: Invisible, but I’m wearing the white ballet flats from this OOTD.
Damn, I loved the hell out of that dress. I replicated it as best I could with the greens I had, but the wedding colors were sage and silver, so my dress was a more muted, cool green called “celadon." Here’s a color-adjusted version that’s a bit closer:
I didn’t want to overwork the coloring too much, otherwise I might’ve attempted to replicate these colors on the actual paper. The brighter version really does convey the beauty of the dress effectively, as well as makes me look like the Frog Princess!
Here are the color versions I decided on for my FA button set!
1. Argyle. It is awesome.
2. These will be debuting this weekend at Bodyslam!, put on by Love Your Body Detroit.
3. I have no idea what to expect, but I’m going to test out OOTD prints as well. Just some of my favorites, and a few copies of each at that.
4. The buttons, at least, will go up in the store next week!
After this very strenuous work week, I am really looking forward to the weekend.
It’s Fat Wonder Woman!
I just realized I never posted this here! WHAT GIVES ALEX. WHAT GIVES.
This is a few months old, so it doesn’t count for FPAW, BUT STILL IT IS EPIC AND MUST BE SHARED.

OKAY. This hot look requires BACKSTORY.
So I’ve been working overnights for the last month, since the store I work in is being remodeled and they need extra help and HEY more money because of the shift differential. Last Thursday night I was dicking around on Facebook before work when I see a post by one of my daytime coworkers proclaiming that Fridays henceforth would be Anti-Casual Friday, and we should all don our professional attire instead. I commented that if I had a red tie, I would’ve totally donned it at midnight to join in.
Cut to 10:30 when my shift started, and my other coworker, Mark, brought a tie for me to wear! As well as one for himself, as he’d also seen the exchange on Facebook.
So this is my Anti-Casual Friday OOTD. No, really.
Check out those sexy kneepads.
Outfit from 11.9.2009.
Shirt: Lane Bryant (faux layers)
Pants: Fashion Bug
Shoes: Dansko
This is one of my favorite shirts, which I wore for a job interview.
Today’s picture is of Mellie, a character from Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse. Mellie was played by Miracle Laurie, who as you can see, has a most adorable smile. ^_^
This is the outfit she was wearing during her first appearance, in the second episode of season 1. After freeze-framing it about a million times, I think I got it just right. :D
Here’s another entry in my list of Fat Idols, Ellen Naomi Cohen, better known as Cass Elliot. I love her face so much. It’s hard to peg down her size, exactly, since most of the photos I could find online are of her in tent-like clothing, but I’d probably peg her at around a 24 or 26, the same size or just a little bit bigger than me. I’m thinking of forsaking my annual spring haircut so my hair will be long enough to dress as her for Halloween this year.
The other reason I love Mama Cass is that we have very similar vocal ranges, which means I can totally sing “Dream a Little Dream” and “Words of Love” really well. :D If I had time, I’d record myself singing karaoke to share it.
Hopefully I’ll make a color version of her sometime this week. ^_^
BFF Nella and the Nostalgia Chick herself, Lindsay. I am but a Trek shirt and a My Little Pony away from cosplaying Nella at a con one of these days.
