here’s some progress photos of the ugly Black Lady doll becoming not ugly.
The face molds of these older Sailor Moon dolls are really strange. The people who sculpted the interpreted anime faces as just not having noses or mouths and so there’s really nothing there but a slight bump for both of those features. I wasn’t interested in carving or sculpting the head but I did use a bit of pastel to define the space where the nose should be a little better and now I think she definitely reads as a face instead of like eyes and a mouth drawn on a balloon.
