Shera, Princess of Power, original artwork.

Shera and her mighty steed, Swift Wind in front of Castle Greyskull. Ā This was about to stay in sketch purgatory until I finally looked at it again recently and decided to finally finish it. Ā And like I posted before, yes technically Swift Wind is a pegasus, but I couldnā€™t fit his wings in without obscuring Shera, so it was a design decision. Ā And as always, if you would like to purchase this print, then this link is for you.

Circus Pleats. [Outfit Details] [Youtube]

I’m seeing all these big bold vertical stripe shirts and dresses and I really want one.Ā  I’m thinking blue/white, pink/white, or yellow/white.

I really kinda want to look like those iconic striped beach tents that I think you’re supposed to change in.

Compliation of my Sailor Moon cosplay :D

Itā€™s been my dream to cosplay Sailor Moon for years and this past weekend at AX 2012 it got to come true :D You may be wondering why I chose to go with a black color for the wig, and the reason is, cuz Iā€™m black LOL XD

I wanted to do a version of Sailor Moon that looked more natural for me, and I think it still turned out well :]

This is going to sound cheesy but I hope that me cosplaying shows girls who may think they canā€™t cosplay because they have a darker skin tone (because 90% of characters are light skinned) or a curvier body type that they donā€™t have to be afraid to be their dream character! You can adjust the character to suit yourself while being as true to the original as you can :]

Photogry credit goes to my friendĀ http://jwillson.tumblr.com/Ā He did an amazing job! Thanks again :]

You look incredible! Your wig is flawless and it makes the whole cosplay look amazing. I also love the accents, like your flower and pearls.

Stunning! ^__^

Sami, Hannah, and Andy are the first three girls we’re going to meet in The Hues.

I will inevitably get things like “Burger King Kids’ Club” shouted at me for my character designs for this comic, but IDGAF.Ā  I hope that every girl will be able to see some part of themselves in my comic. :x

[Image: a sketchbook page of Audrey, a young woman of color, in various head poses.]

I’ve been thinking about Audrey quite a lot lately, and I decided I wanted to base her features off a different branch of African descent.Ā  (Before, she was loosely based on Gina Torres’s features.)Ā  I really want to see this sort of androgynous, broad, rounder face more often, and it’s pushing my drawing skills in a way that the Torres edition does not.

Most of this sketchbook page was an attempt to get the facial features looking like real life, since I have never drawn a person of color who looked exactly like this before.Ā  Then I tried to inject my personal style into the top-right and bottom-middle pictures, to mixed success.

Need more practice!Ā  And more photo references.

I’m not totally decided on what to do with her hair, either.Ā  I like the cropped-short look of these sketches, and they do fit Audrey’s personality; before, she had long curly hair like Gina, but I’m thinking her hair would be a completely different texture than before, so I don’t think she’d fuss with a lot of hair, it being the apocalypse and all.
