Hey Pretties, we have a dilemma. See, Kristie and I run PSS ourselves and we’ve been working hard building all of this to make all of our lives (and medical shopping needs) easier. But in the process, Kristie had to leave her job because of her own chronic illness issues. In spite of that, she’s put in a lot of time and even some of her own limited money towards growing PrettySick Supply.

Last month, my own fairy godmother was able to assist, and the good news is- there is a job on the horizon- but her February rent is gonna come up before the paid training she’s up for pays out.

So, here’s the thing: we could REALLY use your help. To avoid eviction, Kristie needs to come up with $800 by February 9th. I know a lot of our community is struggling- but keeping Kristie housed (aside from just.. she and her floofs need shelter) is vital to us being able to keep doing what we’re doing. Â

Anything you can spare helps build towards the goal, and we would both be SO grateful. Ultimately this fall, she’ll be moving down here and we’ll be able to share expenses and if all goes well this job will eliminate having to do this kind of ask again- but for now- if you value what we’re doing, and you have anything to spare- she and I would be incredibly thankful for the help.
This is very much not the post I wanted to be writing, but this is the point we’re at.
Several days ago, I was contacted by Snumple’s brother, Vladimir. Snumple – Xenia – had been missing for over 48 hours, and he was looking for any information on where she might be. I didn’t have any ideas, but through our conversation, he seemed to gain a larger picture of the sort of emotional state she’d been in lately.
Which, unfortunately, was not good. As you all know, she deleted her Tumblr a few weeks ago. It was an action that I found extremely worrying, particularly given Xenia’s increasing depression, but she was set on it. Still, after deleting it, her mood seemed to improve and I hoped things were getting better for her. Then emails sent to her began to bounce, saying the account had been deactivated.
The timing coincides with when she went missing. “Worrying” no longer seems sufficient.
Xenia’s been missing now since the morning of 16 May (it’s the 20th as of this writing), making it over four days since anyone last saw or heard from her. She left her phone and her passport at home. Her family and volunteers have been searching the city and surrounding woods, but have so far not found anything.
I know she was friends with many of you. If you have any ideas or information about where she may have gone, anything she might have mentioned or hinted at, please let me know so I can pass the information to her brother. And if by chance you’re in the area of St. Petersburg in Russia and might be willing to volunteer to help search, let me know that as well so I can find out where to direct you.
This situation is absolutely heartbreaking. I love Snumps very much. I hold out hope for the best, but even if the worst, she needs to be found so her family can know peace.
Here are the final designs for the pins I have been talking about. Pre-orders will close on February 1st, 2017. And once I have put in the order it will take 2-3 weeks for them to be made. So I will be shipping them to everyone who ordered near the end of February/early March.
I am very happy with the designs and I can’t wait to see them made into pins. I hope you all like them as much as I do. I can’t wait to get to wear them.
Help me Get my Life Back… Help me get some wheels!
Hi Guys!  So, I’m finally ready to admit my crutches… aren’t enough.  I’m missing out on so much because my mobility is so limited by my pain and exhaustion.  I bought a manual wheelchair a couple of months ago- but the days when I need it most… I can’t use it because my hands are in so much pain that I can’t grip or maneuver the wheel rims. Â

So, I need help.  I found a relatively lightweight power chair that can be folded to go in my car’s backseat or trunk, and that I should be able to get in and out on my own.  The battery life is pretty good, and… it’s actually cheaper than a lot of custom-built manual chairs.
Right now it’s a challenge even for me to get to class 2x a week, and forget about trying to actually DO anything else.  This chair could finally give me my life back.  And the less energy I expend on just… getting around, the more I have to get back to work on PSA and other projects.  Not to mention- it would be nice to feel like I have the freedom and energy to see friends and family again more regularly. Â

I know a lot of ya’ll here at PSA have your own medical financial challenges.  So even if you can’t donate… please consider sharing this post?  My insurance sucks, and this is the only way I can see to actually get my mobility back.  I want my life back.  Please help me take it back.

Agents of the Realm is a magical girl inspired webcomic series that I’ve be running for the last two years and am finally ready to get the first book to print! Volume 1 is going to be compiled of the first 5 chapters, as well as 4 mini-chapters and a BONUS Mini-Chapter that will only be available in the books!Â
This book is going to be mighty hefty, filled with almost 300 pages of full colored artwork, including some special behind the scenes concept art and some much needed updated artwork, too! In order to help make this book become a reality, I’ll need your help to get it to happen!
The funds for the kickstarter will go to getting the book printed and to help produce a bunch of great stuff that I’d love to get into your hands! From Postcards, Prints, Bookplates and much, much more!

This website will be for writers who want to connect with readers and create a wider audience for their work.
It’ll also be for readers who are tired of the racial exclusivity in the publishing industry and are interested in being aware of and reading quality non-fiction and fiction by women of color for women of color.
If you’re a woman of color writer and you’re interested in having your work featured when the website and blog are launched (scheduled for early April 2016) then e-mail me if you:
– haven’t been published
– your manuscript is at least 10k words (if nonfiction) or 15k words (if fiction)
– you have or intend to self-publish in eBook format
There’s no cap for how many authors will be accepted or any limits on what genres will be accepted.
In your email send a short (500 words or less) summary about your manuscript and a short (1000 words or less) excerpt.

This has been a week. Long, stupid story short, my car is smashed and I’m selling my house because of reasons. Right now, I still have about 50 boxes of books and shirts in my house’s basement, and nowhere to put them, so I might as well move them to your houses. Stuff is all ridiculously reduced so I can get it outta here. This means I’m having the biggest sale I’ve ever done.
