It’s think it’s actually kinda cool that Beryl brings up Jadeite again. Like we’ve talked about a few times, Jadeite is unique among the Shitennou in that he’s the only one isolated without appearances from the others. It may be after the fact, but I like the continuity of bringing him up. He wasn’t ever a presence with anyone else directly, but little reminders like this help to enforce that all of his stuff didn’t happen in a vacuum.

Though I again wonder where everybody else was while he was failing repeatedly.

The first SM fanfiction I ever read back in like 1998-9 was about this very premise.  Jadeite escaped from the giant crystal carbonite block and came after the girls, who were in their 20s at that point, for revenge. :)
