NOW YOU HAVE TO TELL US WHICH DISTRICTS THEY’RE ALL FROM. Aargh no this is terrible.
I don’t know anything about the District stuff (I actually wasn’t a big fan of the books), so I’m just going to punch in names right now.
But I know me and I give that like two, three times max before then I have to read up on all the fucking districts and consider assigning them according to character, if that’s possible.

The only obvious one I can think of is Ami from District Three, which produces technology. I can’t decide whether Mako belongs in Five, power, or Seven, lumber.
Usagi is obviously from the Capitol.
I have a hard time not putting Michiru in 4, for the water connection, but I also think she would be from the Capitol, too. Or perhaps 1, where the luxury goods are.
Haruka, maybe 2? That’s where they trained Peacekeepers, if I recall correctly? OR WAIT, maybe 6, Transportation, for the racing connection. I dunno. I’m literally going down the list of districts on Wikipedia to refresh my memory.
Rei is 12, because coal/fire/etc.
Minako would be either 1 or 2.
I second Mako for 7.
District 8 is textiles, and popular fanon for Setsuna is an interest in fashion design, so I’d stick her there.
I’m coming up on empty for Chibs and Hotaru, but I’m leaning toward 11.
That white/gold or blue/black dress post is fucking me up because it’s making me question my ability to color and how others perceive the colors in my art.
Like what looks good to me might look completely wrong to other people? I remember doing that color test and…
I think part of what messes with people is that the dress appears to be backlit, and logically a backlit garment would be a shadowed out hue of whatever the colour would look like under neutral light, in yellow sunlight light, the shadowed white would look blue-ish and the gold would be brownish. But the dress is actually fairly washed out in the photo and appearing lighter instead of backlit, so it messes with what people expect. it’s like that checkerboard illusion where a white and black panel are actually the same colour if you directly sample them.
(I had a really hard time seeing the black and blue in the dress until I saw a picture someone found of the dress under normal light and my eyes like, adjusted to the lighting in the photo)

Inspired by one of keyofnik’s many wonderful posts, and a quick heads-up that her account was tumblr-nuked over infuriatingly vague reasons so she’s now hanging at keyofjetwolf.
