Maybe fat people cosplay as thin characters because there are so few fat characters that their choices for remaining in their body type are so limited and with so little variety. Being thin (and white), I have such a huge variety of characters I could cosplay as, but the variety for fat folks? Maybe 5% of the kind of choice I have.
Maybe the fat guy doesn’t like Mario. Maybe the fat guy really likes Luigi. Maybe everyone knows Luigi wears green and not read and they’re not really all that confused about what’s going on.
Maybe it’s cosplay and it’s fun and not really your business what somebody else cosplays as.
Please, cosplay whatever the hell you want.
