The Fat Census will be available on November 7th, 2017 for all fat bodied people. This survey is created to radicalize research around fat bodies and to create more tangible data to name the violence and experiences we have as fat people. We will be releasing the results of the census in an executive summary along with demands for resources for fat bodies in January 2018.

Last week was such an amazing week for me- I hope yours was as well! I went back home, cooked a delicious meal, ate way too much, celebrated my birthday and got to be with the people I love the most in the world. Now on to the outfit!!
Fat is not the worst thing a person can be.
I’ve got a growing collection of body acceptance pins and I decided to wear them all today.Â
The Glorifying Obesity and All Bodies are from the lovely and amazing Kris, at Fat and Nerdy and I picked them up from her store here while she was having a sale for $2. I’m kicking myself now for not picking up more!Â
Fat Life I got from wonderful Alex Herberling when I met her at Youmacon a few years back. I am not sure if she is still selling these, but her store is here.
(The bacon & egg pan charm is not part of it, that came from a charm bracelet a dear friend made me)
The Fight Physical Fitness pin is actually an old Topps pin from the Wise Guys collection that was made in the 60’s- I just found it last weekend at a trade show and the guy gave it to me for free because I was so tickled with it. I can’t find it for sale online at all.
Now as for the outfit- the leggings are from Rainbow this pair here, and Jesus wept, they are the softest thing I’ve ever worn in my entire life. On sale now, for $10 and they are having some really great sales going on- additional 50% off sale items and free shipping on all orders of $20 or more.
The sweater I got from Meijer, and they don’t sell online. :(
(Also apologies for the crummy full body shot, I took it with my phone and it didn’t turn out so I had to color correct in photoshop which is why it has that odd pink outline)
WOO! I just saw this post with my FAT LIFE button like a week ago! You look fabulous. :D

In between other things, I’m trying to design a new series of Body Love Buttons to have at Wiscon. I decided on a pixel art theme this time!
This is the first one I’ve finished. Will be round in button form, but works nicely on its own as well.
Love Your Body Day 2013
Next Wednesday is Love Your Body Day or as I like to call it, Feel How Ever You Fucking Want About Your Body Day. Let’s spend the day talking about fat phobia, transphobia, racism, sexism, ableism and how bodies are political. Let’s stop having campaigns that target individuals and instead create movements that deconstruct systemic / institutional oppression.

So I never do things like this, but I had a horrible week of ableism and fatphobia— a physical therapist working with my leg issues made a bunch of problematic comments, my endocrinologist fat-shamed me for needing a change in diabetes meds, and then a mental health professional suggested i’m only fat because “i’m subconsciously using my size to keep people away and hide from my fear of sexuality.” UGHHH. So I made a fat disabled sexuality photoset to cleanse my life of that toxic shit.
Image description: photo set of a fat light-skinned Latina with long curly brown hair [a wig]. First pic: lying on a bed holding a sign that reads “gorda, discapacitada, y que!” 2nd pic: in a manual wheelchair wearing black lace lingerie/thigh highs, holding a sign that says “my body is not a symptom of my mental illness.” (and it would be ok if my body was, too). 3rd pic: standing with a cane in same outfit, with a sign reading “
healthdisability pride at any size” in graphic design style. 4th pic: standing in red and black lingerie/thigh highs, posing with her cane and medications. 5th pic: kneeling on a bed holding a sign reading “fat disabled dykes do it better | or don’t-do-it better, bc consent is impt. and sexiness is not a requirement 4 anyone.” 6th pic: in her wheelchair with arched back/head (implications of sexual arousal) with a red background/rain coming down filter added to the photo.
I’m so sorry those health care “professionals” said those things to you. This photoset is phenomenal.
