My darling friend Chizzi mentioned that there are a lot of booby tutorials out there are just predrawn boobs with the artist going HEY LOOK! HERE ARE SOME BOOBS! but not many that actually talk about the anatomical structure, and where to put the lines.  I was like, “Hey, I can probably whip something up.”  And so I spent my thanksgiving making this.

Proportions probably aren’t exact, but I did my best.  I also didn’t explore the various body types, but perhaps I could do a separate tutorial someday.  I hope you find this tutorial useful :)

All photo references used in the tutorial were found on The Drawing Script.  Credits to each photo belong to their respective owners.

dumb rant about boobs and crossed arms

elaboration here (http://littlefroggies.tumblr.com/post/28706407694/i-drew-this-super-super-fast-sorry-its-so) and here (http://littlefroggies.tumblr.com/post/28719210199/people-are-sending-me-a-lot-of-messages-that-are) because I don’t think people get what I mean by “under” boobs

Okay, took a short 10 minute break to doodle this. Trying to illustrate something that a lot of artists do, intentionally or unintentionally, when drawing kinda-busty to very-busty people. I’m no expert but I figured I’d just try.

1 – arms crossed without boobs as obstacle
2 & 3 – popular ways of drawing busty people unrealistically crossing arms
4 – a more natural and realistic way of crossing arms
Bonus – something a lot of inexperienced artists do to try to work around all obstacles at once, but end up drawing strangely long arms and torsos in the process.

Lots of WORDS below…

The photoset wasn’t working the way I wanted, so here’s the original “base” by itself:

The red lines are meant to mark the contours of the body.

Once again, a very quick guide as tips for drawing breasts. As before, this is a bit rushed and just a starting point for drawing breasts in different sizes with attention to the shape, nipple position as it relates to/and sag.

Not an authority, just doing this since people have asked nicely for a long time. May do a better one in the future.
