dumb rant about boobs and crossed arms

elaboration here (http://littlefroggies.tumblr.com/post/28706407694/i-drew-this-super-super-fast-sorry-its-so) and here (http://littlefroggies.tumblr.com/post/28719210199/people-are-sending-me-a-lot-of-messages-that-are) because I don’t think people get what I mean by “under” boobs

Okay, took a short 10 minute break to doodle this. Trying to illustrate something that a lot of artists do, intentionally or unintentionally, when drawing kinda-busty to very-busty people. I’m no expert but I figured I’d just try.

1 – arms crossed without boobs as obstacle
2 & 3 – popular ways of drawing busty people unrealistically crossing arms
4 – a more natural and realistic way of crossing arms
Bonus – something a lot of inexperienced artists do to try to work around all obstacles at once, but end up drawing strangely long arms and torsos in the process.

Lots of WORDS below…

The photoset wasn’t working the way I wanted, so here’s the original “base” by itself:

The red lines are meant to mark the contours of the body.

Once again, a very quick guide as tips for drawing breasts. As before, this is a bit rushed and just a starting point for drawing breasts in different sizes with attention to the shape, nipple position as it relates to/and sag.

Not an authority, just doing this since people have asked nicely for a long time. May do a better one in the future.

reblogging for contemplatingchicken

why thank you! one of my (many) ambitions is to do art with a variety of body shapes in it.

(Hum somehow this reminds me that at some point I think I might buy the Fat Ladies in Spaaaaaaace coloring book.)

This is cool!

Chris Hart has taught me that women in comics just need to be sexy. Also, seriously, stop drawing women with any other body type than what’s described here. You’re making him cry.

PS – All but one of these are from the book, The Ultimate Guide for Comic Book Artists by Chris Hart.  The one about gossiping magical girls is from his how-to guide on drawing magical girls.

Part 2 is here.

Better keep this guy away from my comic, or he’ll have a conniption. And his dick might very well go flaccid.

“A FAT woman drawing herself FAT? OH NOES!”

Makes me SO GLAD that the new series I’m developing will be very body-type-diverse.
