Every artist who sees this post should do the following:
– Watch the video.
– Follow the instructions
– Reblog
I can’t stress you enough about how important these exercises are for your drawing hand. You don’t wanna get CTS of Tendonitis and similar stuff that will prevent you from making art or even hold a pencil.
I first saw this video… I dunno, a couple of years ago? But after seeing this it instantly became part of my daily routine. Having your wrist crap out on you because you haven’t taken care of yourself while drawing is agonizing and not fun.
Get to stretching, artist buddies.
I usually don’t reblog stuff when a post demands it of me, but I found this video to be very helpful.
I’ll start trying these and see if they help!
I was a little shocked at how much it stung when I did the very first stretch in this video. I can’t bend it more than… 5 or do degrees without some excruciating pain. That tendon is not used to being stretched AT ALL.
I don’t have any serious problems with my hands yet, but my fingers and the backs of my hands are usually the parts that bother me after a marathon session of whatever, so I’m going to start doing these on the reg.
My hands also get a hard workout at my job, so I think these will help me there, too.
[Image 1: Webcam photo of Alex holding up a program book for a high school production of Damn Yankees from 2004. Her expression is like “oooooh!”]
[Image 2: Photo of Alex’s bio and pic in the program. It says “Alex has been in church musicals, as well as several Bowsher productions. She plans to move to Columbus next year and attend OSU. She would like to become a comic book artist.”]
I found some program books from the musicals I was in during high school. I don’t remember if I even wrote this bio myself, but I find it rather amusing.
What’s So Bad About a Boy Who Wants to Wear a Dress? – NYTimes.com
Just reminding myself to read this when I get back from grocery shopping.
A co-worker was talking about how her two-year-old son likes to play with her make-up brushes and how it upsets her husband. I mean, really? The parents in the beginning of this story rock.
Best thing about Makeup Makeup Party Party at WisCon: Seeing little kids of ALL GENDERS running around in ridiculous frocks with wicked-intense makeup, mentoring each other, asking adults for tips, and generally having a ball.
Yes! I remember the one young man, who was probably 12 or so, getting really into trying all the nail polish stuff. :D

This is how I feel about breakfast right now.
This is how I feel about getting a cold beverage right now.
My roommates are going to be getting a Corgi puppy just before I move out and I imagine this is what every day will be like.
