This weekend I’ll be at Columbus College of Art & Design’s MIX Symposium!
Mix 2013 is Columbus College of Art & Design’s second annual symposium and exhibition dedicated to the diverse art form of comics. Registration covers two days of panels, workshops, a film screening, and reserved seating for Jeff Smith’s keynote address.
Jeff Smith, award-winning creator of Bone and RASL, will present the keynote on Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. Smith’s keynote event is a conversation with Tom Spurgeon of The Comics Reporter. The keynote is free and open to the public, however, reserved seating will be provided to paid Mix 2013 registrants. Jeff Smith’s exhibition of work from RASL is free and open to the public as is an exhibition of work from Gary Panter.
I’ll be on the Creative Methods panel on Saturday at 10am! I’m also part of Sketch & Kvetch, a group of local women cartoonists who are closing out the symposium at 3:45 on Saturday with the Women Comic Creators panel. :D

Take the Test: How Well Do You See Color?
Take the Test: How Well Do You See Color?
It is generally believed that around 1 out of 255 women and 1 out of 12 men may have some degree of color blindness. When you consider the importance color plays in the products we buy, our aesthetic tastes, and the design decisions we make when we decorate, it’s quite intriguing to consider that many of us may not perceive colors in the same way.
I got a 4. :D

I have finally found time to finish this comic that I’ve been working on for a while, thanks to some exciting news!
Recently, I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with Lili Safon, editor of the awesome body image blog Jug Report. I was interviewed for her blog, and this comic also debuted there! I am honored to be part of her lovely project! You can read the interview here, if ya like! Thank you Lili!!
