Are you in Columbus, OH? I’ll be in town tomorrow through Saturday at CCAD with some far more gifted friends. There is a panel Thursday night you can sign up for. (it’s lower on the page) I’m bringing a carload of stuff from my store and can be bribed with pounds of locally-roasted coffee. You can connect to the event on the Facebooks here. I believe if you just pop your name into the google doc you can go to the panel. I’ll be at Laughing Ogre (possibly with special guests) from 1-3pm on Saturday, too!

While maybe not very elegant-looking, I think the keyboard to the side configuration is the way to go. The numbing in my fingers and thumb has cleared up and now it’s just regular old fatigue from being a workaholic. ? Which is easily remedied by stretching and ibuprofen. #arting #studio

Loving how the new Hues chapter is coming out! I really like aesthetic change as well! What made you decide to change it up if I may ask?

Couple reasons!

First, inking is a skill I’ve been ignoring for years and I’ve decided to improve it.  So what better way to do it than make it part of my regular routine?

Secondly, time.  I’m slowly introducing more simplified techniques into The Hues so that any given page will hopefully take me less time to make, and therefore I can get more pages done in advance.  As well as make time for myself to work on commissions and side projects. :)

Inking the comic helps because it takes care of a lot of readability issues in the figures, and it takes a lot of weight off me at the shading stage since I don’t have to spend as much time rendering the folds on clothing and such.

That’s a lot of technical stuff in there, but basically, trying to develop and expand my skills, and trying to save some time! :D  Thank you for the kind words!
