Need to Avoid Eviction!

Hey Pretties, we have a dilemma.  See, Kristie and I run PSS ourselves and we’ve been working hard building all of this to make all of our lives (and medical shopping needs) easier.  But in the process, Kristie had to leave her job because of her own chronic illness issues.  In spite of that, she’s put in a lot of time and even some of her own limited money towards growing PrettySick Supply.

.

Last month, my own fairy godmother was able to assist, and the good news is- there is a job on the horizon- but her February rent is gonna come up before the paid training she’s up for pays out.

.

So, here’s the thing: we could REALLY use your help.  To avoid eviction, Kristie needs to come up with $800 by February 9th.  I know a lot of our community is struggling- but keeping Kristie housed (aside from just.. she and her floofs need shelter) is vital to us being able to keep doing what we’re doing.

.

Anything you can spare helps build towards the goal, and we would both be SO grateful.  Ultimately this fall, she’ll be moving down here and we’ll be able to share expenses and if all goes well this job will eliminate having to do this kind of ask again- but for now- if you value what we’re doing, and you have anything to spare- she and I would be incredibly thankful for the help.

You can help through her paypal here

This me! Please help!

Please help my girlfriend not get evicted…

Sarah is super rad, please help and boost!

So apparently in Skyrim, if you just eat all your stolen items in between the “wait I know you” and actually getting arrested, the guard will just… walk away???

I LEGITIMATELY DOWNLOADED AND INSTALLED SKYRIM JUST TO TEST THIS.

I COULDNT STOP LAUGHING AFTERWARDS.

You do know you can just… keep walking, right? Also why are you only stealing food items???

1) it’s not about the fact that you can keep walking

2) it’s not about playing properly only stealing food

It’s about CAN YOU, if your only stolen items are food, eat them all and get out of being arrested. The answer is yes.

If you’re trying to make this into some sort of logic or reason thing you are not playing Skyrim correctly my dude.

It’s about the mental image of a guard starting to apprehend you, watching you devour three cheese wheels in like half a second (presumably looking him dead in the eyes as you do), and deciding that he is not getting paid enough to deal with this bullshit.

I feel like I would enjoy playing skyrim but I just cannot get over the color palette.

I am curious. You stated you’ve been working on The Hue’s premise since 1998 I think the date was? How much has it changed since it was first thought up? Why did you decide to work on Garanos before The Hues?

alexheberling:

That’s correct. The Hues will turn 15 years old on August 27th.

It’s changed pretty dramatically more than a few times since its inception.  In the very beginning, it was essentially a Sailor Moon fanfic, then for awhile it was a pretty conventional magical girl series, and now it’s a love letter to the genre.  I’ve described this iteration of The Hues as a collaboration with my 12-year-old self, which is pretty accurate.

Garanos presented itself in my head during a time when I had convinced myself that The Hues would never get made, so that’s why I made it first.  TH had been my baby for a decade at that point and I had really kind of lost objectivity about it.  It just wasn’t ready back then, and I wasn’t ready to change things up in order to make it something more special.

Where do you get your button making supplies, if I may ask? Also, is that a hand-held press in that picture? I’ve wanted to try button making but the standing presses are so expensive! Thanks!

alexheberling:

My machine is the Badge-a-Minit hand press, which I got for $100 about… 6 years ago?  I got the starter kit that came with 100 sets of button parts, which were my practice buttons while I learned how the machine worked.  I buy button parts in bulk from ButtonSafari on eBay, since they are much cheaper than BAM’s button parts.

I wrote up a whole button guide on my blog a few years ago, so go read that for more information.

A hand press is good for getting your feet wet, but a table-top unit with a lever will save your hands from dying.  I’ve been at the point where I should probably upgrade to a lever machine for the last couple years, but I’ve been putting it off and putting it off.

The nice thing about buttons is that whatever kind of machine you buy, it will eventually pay for itself in buttons sold.
