My very important Canadian snack review

Last week, I solicited suggestions for Canadian snacks, and BOY DID I SNACK.

KitKats

Okay, so these KitKats were awesome. There’s more chocolate around the wafers than normal, and the chocolate was better tasting. 10/10, thank you @docholligay for the suggestion. :B

All-Dressed Chips

These were good! They kind of taste like BBQ at first, but then as I finished the bag and my tastebuds adjusted they were somewhere between BBQ and salt and vinegar. 7/10

Ketchup Chips

I liked these a lot more than I expected to.  The ketchup flavor wasn’t too intense and made for a good snack. Kind of like eating a picnic in a bag. 8/10

Kinder Surprise Eggs

TBH, the surprise is that the toy sucks. But I first had these in Germany when I was a babby, so they’re nostalgic and I’ll get some whenever I get a chance. The chocolate is okay. There was a choice between Barbie and Angry Birds, so I got one of each. The Angry Birds toy was a silly little bird on a trophy that you used to push a little disc at cardboard standups of the pigs from the game. The Barbie toy is actually kind of cute, a little figurine of Barbie playing an electric guitar. I have it on my monitor stand. 5/10 for rockstar Barbie.

Aero milk chocolate bar

I remember these coming to the US a few years ago as Hershey Aero. It was okay, the texture of the air bubbles was kind of interesting as I ate the chocolate, but I don’t ever need to have one again. 3/10

Caramilk bar

Oh my gosh, so yummy. The caramel was soft and in good proportion to the chocolate. I liked that the bar is marked up/molded so you can break off a little 1×1 inch piece at a time. Good with the coffee I was drinking. 10/10

Coffee Crisp bar

These sounded a lot more tasty than they were. They were alright, but didn’t knock my socks off. 4/10

Toffee Crisp bar

This was similarly delicious to the Caramilk bar and made up for the coffee crisp disappointment! The toffee layer was soft, not the brittle, hard kind of toffee I was expecting. 7/10

Honorable Mentions

The cafe at the Toronto Reference Library had muffins, and the one I chose was the Hobbit Muffin, for obvious (NEEEEEEERD) reasons. It had nuts and like… dates or something in it, and it was surprisingly substantial for an emergency breakfast.
