OPEN CALL FOR LA LIGA ZINE
La
Liga is an online platform that showcases the many ways latinxs in the diaspora
are dissecting their cultural identities through style and use it as a tool for
self expression. We aim to highlight how latinxs de-westernize the arenas of
styling, design and fashion, among others, which have been historically
dominated by white, able-bodied and skinny individuals. Moreover, we
acknowledge that latinidad is a social construct and that the latinx community
is not a monolith and therefore hope to highlight this diversity.We’re
currently looking for
- Latinxs
located in the BALTIMORE-DC area/ SAN ANTONIO / AUSTIN / TORONTO / MONTREAL
that would be willing to be photographed in their favorite outfit/discuss about
the issues mentioned above in an interview format.- LATINX
PHOTOGRAPHERS/LATINXS INTERESTED IN PHOTOGRAPHY IN THE AREA (unfortunately we’re not in a
position where we can offer a payment but if your interested in photography and
don’t have a camera we can provide that for you).- People
interested in styling, our platform can
feature your work.- In
general, looking for any latinxs that think they have something that can be
