I am a bit befuddled by this revelation! I loved SilMil Queen Serenity with silver hair, so this is messing with my brain and making me think it’s Usagi!Serenity.
SECOND OF ALL look at the forehead crescent. It looks like it’s a tiara as well, and not a part of her, like I always assumed they were??? IF THERE ARE NOT FOREHEAD SYMBOLS I WILL REVOLT. /notreally

WELL SILLY ME, looks like Queen Serenity’s crescent was a tiara the whole time even in the first anime.
Now I’m very curious about the nature of Serenity/Usagi’s forehead crescent, both here and as NQS. Is it an ornament as well? One that manifests magically when she’s in Serenity/NQS form? Hmmmmmmm. I had always interpreted the crescent as a part/mark of the skin, like a birthmark, or tattoo, if that makes sense. Not sure how I feel about this just yet, for headcanon-y purposes.

Those gratuitous turns the girls do in the middle gif are killing me. As is the fact that Usagi DOESN’T do one. Like she tried ten times and just kept tripping and falling on her face and so the executive decision was made to just have her stand there because IT’S THE OPENING TITLES FOR OUR REBOOT USAGI COULD YOU NOT
Rei and Minako were already whipping Makoto and Ami with their hair. Adding Usagi’s ponytails to that could only have led to a hairstorm.
ALSO the girls on each side turn the opposite way, though all at different times. Rei and Mako turn to their left, and Ami and Minako turn to their right.
